Coming out of the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco was this gem of a video featuring TechCrunch and CrunchFund founder Michael Arrington interviewing the “legendary” investor Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, on how he approaches business and investments, including in the food+tech space.
“As part of our sustainability effort,” Khosla says, “we’re doing a lot of investing in food.”
“You talked to me about a lettuce picking operation that you funded among other things, let’s talk about all these, because they’re amazing,” responds Michael Arrington, the founder of TechCrunch and Crunchfund.
They go on to discuss a candy company (Unreal Candy), a salt company that makes salt that’s as good any other salt but with 50% less sodium, a high-tech beef company, dairy-free cheese and eggs.
“If you have a great idea, come our way,” says Khosla. For the food-related discussion, skip to 9:10.
