From October 21-23, the largest professional 3D printing event, Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo, is heading to Santa Clara, California and will feature a track dedicated solely to the burgeoning 3D printed food space.

It will also cover potential innovations in the field, such as customizing printed food according to nutrient profiles and calorie content, and will explore how companies are developing ways to monitor individual biostatistics and then create personalized food to match health needs. The main focus of the session is to unpack how printed food innovation can exist within the framework of the FDA regulatory system for food, dietary supplements, drugs, and medical devices.
Print and Eat: Overview, Challenges and Opportunities in Food Printing

This session will offer a 101 of 3D printed food. Covering questions like: What is food printing and how does it work? What kind of food can be printed and how does it taste? Is the technology ready, and are we? It will cover the burgeoning field of food printing, discuss its brief history, show some of the technologies involved, and outline some of the key challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
