Given the number of these startups launching in New York, METRO AG (Europe’s 4th largest retailer) is coming to NYC to explore global trends in the food tech and restaurant services space. Three founders will present their startups followed by a panel discussion with Olaf Koch (CEO METRO AG) and Jenny Fielding (Techstars Managing Director).

BagIQ – Automates food tracking by passively collecting a digital record of each product purchased with retailer loyalty cards or online. BagIQ aggregates & analyzes these data steams to create food dashboards, illuminating the path to achieving personal health & nutrition goals.

Groupraise (Techstars alumni) – GroupRaise is a marketplace & booking engine for large group reservations at restaurants where a % of the sales is donated back to a charitable cause.

METRO and Techstars will also announce the opening of applications for the second class of their hospitality and food tech accelerator program.
