Support for food entrepreneurs is exploding in 2015. Just two years after its incubation at Food Book Fair, Food+Enterprise has expanded into a three-day conference dedicated to facilitating collaboration amongst individuals and organizations working to build and finance a more sustainable food future.
Organized by the Northeast Foodshed Finance Alliance and Slow Money NYC , in conjunction with NRDC, Community Food Funders and the National Young Farmers Coalition, Food+Enterprise has been designed specifically to connect all the moving pieces in the food system in order to create a diverse community of collaboration.
Happening from February 27 – March 1 at Industry City in Brooklyn, NY, Food+Enterprise welcomes farmers, entrepreneurs, chefs, funders, investors and consultants. Each day of the conference is carefully structured to create a collaborative, informative and interactive environment for all attendees. Day 1 focuses on mentorship, one-on-one coaching, workshops and structured networking. Day 2 presents discussions on financing sustainable food and farm enterprises. And Day 3 offers attendees the opportunity to see various sustainable food and farm businesses share their stories at the Pitch Competition.
Speakers include Woody Tasch (Slow Money), Judy Wicks, Randall Grahm (Bonny Doon Vineyard), Michael Muzyk (Baldor), Jonny Price (Kiva Zip), Will Rob (Etsy), Jennifer Goggin (Farmersweb) and Brian Halweil (Edible Publications). Check out the full list here.
