Last Monday, Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn announced “FoodWorks New York”, a new effort by the City Council to produce the first ever comprehensive plan to use New York City’s food system to create jobs, improve public health and protect the environment.

Last Tuesday, Yelp upgraded its check-in feature–which had previously only offered users the chance to become the “duke” or “duchess” of an establishment by logging enough visits–to allow merchants to offer discounts or freebies to Yelpers who announce their patronage through its apps.

Stefani Bardin’s Eyebeam project takes viewers on a journey through the human digestive system withe the M2A™ and the SmartPill, which is a a hard capsule pill endoscope that can take pictures of the GI tract after being swallowed. Bardin has partnered with our friend Mike Lee of StudioFeast to prepared two meals for the project.
